Signature Schools of Excellence
Recognizing accredited FACCS schools that intentionally pursue growth, stewardship, and excellence — year after year.
The Signature Schools of Excellence (SSE) program is a voluntary continuous-improvement initiative that recognizes accredited FACCS schools which intentionally strengthen their mission, operations, and student outcomes through purposeful planning, evaluation, and documented best practices.
Built on the same domains and indicators found in the FACCS accreditation standards, SSE affirms a school's commitment to excellence beyond baseline accreditation — demonstrating intentional progress, measurable goals, and thoughtful systems that support long-term effectiveness and sustainability.
A seven-year rhythm of growth
Each year, participating schools focus on one area drawn from the accreditation standards, documenting their progress by June 30 to earn Signature status for the following school year.
- Year 0 Vision & Strategic Planning
- Year 1 Governance & Stakeholder Voice
- Year 2 Instructional Quality & Student Achievement
- Year 3 Professional Growth & Biblical Integration
- Year 4 Curriculum & Instructional Resources
- Year 5 Operations, Finance & Systems Health
- Year 6 Safety, Services & Stakeholder Input
Why the designation matters
Public recognition
An accreditation certificate with SSE designation, a featured spot on this page, and spotlights at FACCS events and on social media.
Measurable growth
A yearly focus keeps the School Improvement Process active — intentional, documented progress instead of a once-every-few-years scramble.
Institutional continuity
Organized, continuous evidence supports smoother leadership transitions and lighter preparation for future accreditation site visits.
