Creative Writing

Grades 1–12

Grades 1–12

The FACCS Creative Writing Festival celebrates student writing from first through twelfth grade across poetry, prose, and essay — helping students strengthen written communication and express themselves creatively.

Who can take part: Participation is limited to students from FACCS member schools and homeschool families.

How it works

Creative Writing is a written, non-performance competition — students don't attend. Schools evaluate their own entries first and submit their best work, which judges score against a written standard. Entries are rated Blue (Superior), Red (Excellent), or White (Good); the top-rated piece per grade and category that earns at least an "Excellent" advances to the State Competition, where winning pieces are published on the FACCS website.

A biblical worldview, and the student's own work

Entries reflect a biblical worldview and Christlike values, and must be the student's own writing — AI-generated work is not permitted. Students may use a dictionary, thesaurus, and the Bible.
