Preschool Director
 
 
The Turning Point Christian School preschool director is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and spiritual development of the preschool.  This role involves managing staff, ensuring compliance with state regulations, developing curriculum, fostering a Christ-centered environment, and maintaining positive relationships with parents, students, and the church community.
 
The preschool director works closely with the elementary principal to assure that the two programs ensure a smooth transition for students from the preschool to the elementary school.  The preschool director reports directly to the elementary principal.
 
Duties and Responsibilities
 
Spiritual Leadership

  • Be a Christian role model
  • Allow the Holy Spirit to provide daily guidance
  • Provide visionary, Christ-centered leadership that aligns with the TPCA mission and vision
  • Model and promote Christian faith and Biblical principles in all aspects of the preschool school life
  • Lead faculty, staff, and students in prayer and devotions

 
Academic Leadership

  • Oversee preschool curriculum development and ensure it integrates with a Biblical worldview
  • Support preschool teachers in implementing instructional practices that promote student growth
  • Provide ongoing professional and spiritual development opportunities for the preschool staff
  • Monitor preschool student progress through assessments and data-driven decision-making
  • Ensure compliance with state educational standards and accreditation requirements

 
Administrative Leadership

  • Develop and implement school policies and procedures
  • Conduct  safety planning and drills and regulatory compliance
  • Supervise, evaluate, and mentor preschool faculty and staff, fostering professional growth and maintaining high spiritual and professional standards
  • Encourage a collaborative, Christ-centered work culture among faculty and staff
  • Oversee preschool student enrollment, admissions, and retention efforts
  • Oversee the maintenance and updating of preschool student records

 
Student Development and Discipline,

  • Establish a positive and nurturing school culture that promotes respect, integrity, and responsibility
  • Implement and enforce student behavior policies consistent with Biblical principles
  • Support teachers in addressing student behavior and discipline in a redemptive manner

 
Parent & Community Engagement

  • Foster strong communication and collaboration with parents and families
  • Represent the school in the community and build relationships with the church and local organizations

 
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
 

  • Able to lead, interact, and work well with people
  • Have effective oral and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated and willing to take the initiative
  • Ability to plan, organize and prioritize activities
  • Able to follow the leadership in the Turning Point Christian Academy community
  • Use the TPCA mission and Portrait of a Graduate to guide work and decisions
  • Act in an adaptable and flexible manner
  • Demonstrate compassion, empathy, and sensitivity toward others

 
 
Desired Qualifications
 
Spiritual Qualifications

  • Born again believer, has accepted Jesus Christ as Savior and has a growing relationship with the Lord
  • Accepts the Bible as the Word of God
  • Regular attendee at Turning Point at Calvary Church

 
 
Academic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in early childhood education and administrative leadership
  • Knowledge of state licensing requirements and preschool best practices
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to nurture and develop staff while fostering a loving, Christ-centered environment
  • CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Willingness to attend workshops, courses, and conferences relevant to continuing professional development
