Job Summary
WGCA is seeking an experienced and passionate Elementary Teacher who will foster a Christ-centered learning environment, providing high-quality instruction that reflects Biblical principles. The ideal candidate will have experience in elementary education, a strong personal testimony of faith in Jesus Christ, and a desire to partner with parents in educating students to their fullest potential. 

Key Responsibilities

• Instructional Excellence: Provide engaging, individualized, and Biblically grounded instruction that challenges students academically while nurturing their spiritual and moral growth.
• Christ-Centered Teaching: Integrate Biblical truths and a Christian worldview into daily lessons, demonstrating how all knowledge and skills connect to God’s sovereignty in creation.
• Classroom Management: Create and maintain a positive, safe, and nurturing classroom environment where students feel valued, respected, and encouraged to grow in their relationship with God and others.
• Parent Partnership: Collaborate with parents to ensure students’ academic progress and spiritual development, offering consistent communication, feedback, and support.
• Active Faith: Model an active faith in Jesus Christ through personal testimony, prayer, and involvement in the school community.
• Holistic Development: Foster students’ growth in the areas of faith, academic skills, social-emotional development, and physical well-being, guiding them in becoming servant leaders who love and serve others.
• Professional Development: Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to remain current with best practices in education and to grow in understanding of Biblical teaching methods.
• Collaboration: Work closely with other teachers, staff, and the administration to create a cohesive educational experience that reflects WGCA’s high standards and Christian values.

Qualifications

• Faith in Jesus Christ: A personal, active faith in Jesus Christ, with a clear testimony of how God is at work in your life.
• Educational Experience: At least 2 years of teaching experience in elementary education is preferred. Experience in a Christian school setting is a plus.
• Teaching Certification: A valid teaching certification or equivalent qualifications in elementary education is preferred.
• Biblical Knowledge: A strong understanding of Biblical principles and the ability to integrate them effectively into the classroom.
• Passion for Children: A heart for teaching and mentoring children in a way that nurtures both their academic and spiritual growth.
• Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with students, parents, and staff in a professional, compassionate, and respectful manner.
• Classroom Management: Effective classroom management skills and the ability to maintain a positive and productive learning environment.
• Commitment to Excellence: A desire to continuously improve as an educator, with a focus on achieving the highest standards of academic and ethical conduct.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, sit, and move around the classroom for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and carry materials up to 25 lbs.
• Comfortable working in a variety of classroom environments.
