Position:  Middle School Math

Description: 
SBCS is a Preschool - 8th Grade Christian school and is looking to add to their teacher team for the 2025-2026 school year. As we are accredited through FACCS, potential teachers must have a college degree in their field and a personal relationship with Jesus.

Salary based on experience 
Master's in education - additional $2,500

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in education (Elementary - must be willing to complete a minimum of 18 educational credits/Middle school - must complete 6 hours educational credits and 18 credits in your field, as well as, Philosophy of Christian Education for FACCS Certification if not already completed)
  • Teaching Experience
  • Active member of Bible believing church
  • Background and drug screening required

Summary: Classroom Teacher:
The mission of Stetson Baptist Christian School, a ministry arm of Stetson Baptist Church, is to provide a spiritually nourishing environment where the individual student may develop academically, spiritually, physically, emotionally and socially to their full potential.  The primary responsibility of the elementary teacher is to prayerfully help students learn attitudes, skills, and subject matter that will contribute to the development their full potential. 
 
Essential Job Functions:

  • Reflect the purpose of the school which is to honor Christ in every class and in every activity.
  • Motivate students to accept God's gift of salvation and help them grow in their faith through their witness and Christian role modeling.
  • Lead students to a realization of their self-worth in Christ.
  • Cooperate with the Board and administration in implementing all policies, procedures, and directives governing the operation of the school.
  • Teach classes as assigned following prescribed scope and sequence
  • Integrate biblical principles and the Christian philosophy of education throughout the curriculum and activities.
  • Keep proper discipline in the classroom and on the school premises for a good learning environment.
  • Maintain a clean, attractive, well-ordered classroom.
  • Plan broadly through the use of semester and quarterly plans and objectives.
  • Plan a program of study that, as much as possible, meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students, challenging each to do his/her best work.
  • Utilize valid teaching techniques to achieve curriculum goals within the framework of the school's philosophy.
  • Employ a variety of instructional aids, methods, and materials that will provide for creative teaching to reach the whole child: spiritual, mental, physical, social, and emotional.
  • Listen and communicate effectively in order to gather, convey or exchange information, including giving instructions, assignments or directions to subordinates or assistants.
  • Respond appropriately to inquiries or complaints.
  • Speak before groups of people with poise, voice control and confidence.
